OPE AKINNUSI, M.D.
A board certified psychiatrist with over 12 years experience, Dr. Akinnusi specializes in the treatment of adults, with a sub-specialization in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Her training in psychiatry began in the United Kingdom, at the renowned Guys, King's & Thomas. After relocating to the United States, she completed residency training in Adult Psychiatry at the University at Buffalo. A Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry was subsequently completed at the same institution. She served as chief resident during her fellowship. In recognition of her outstanding scholarly research activities, Dr. Akinnusi was awarded a grant, with a prestigious research award by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2009. She was a faculty member in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Buffalo.Relocating to Atlanta, Dr. Akinnusi joined the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group and soon after established StrongTower Behavioral Healthcare. A committed Christian, Dr. Akinnusi is dedicated to living life to the glory of God. She is married and blessed with a son.
Lindsay P. Thomas, PMHNP-BC
Lindsay is a board certified adult psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She has over 7 years of experience treating patients and has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including both community mental health and private practice. She holds a Masters degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. In addition, she holds a Masters degree in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University as well as a Bachelors degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked for several years as a therapist with adolescents and families. Lindsay has recently relocated to Georgia from the Middle TN area. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling, and watching Kentucky basketball.
